"Developing Skills and Confidence in Appraising and Applying Findings from Meta-Analysis in Health Care

Alexander M. Clark, PhD, BA(Hons), RN is an Affiliate Scholar with the International Institute for Qualitative Methodology and an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta; Alberta Population Health Investigator and a CIHR New Investigator.
 
This workshop involves participants learning about the basics of systematic review and meta-analysis, and developing the range of key skills vital to using meta-analysis in health care decision-making.  It is designed for different health professional groups and assume little prior knowledge.
 
Aims of the workshop:
1) To support participants identify the defining characteristics of systematic review and meta-analysis
2) To develop key skills in accessing, appraising and applying findings from meta-analysis to practice and policy questions.
