Graduate Programs
Graduate Exercise Area*
The Caritas Centre for Lung Health has an excellent facility where graduates can continue their exercise routine on a drop-in or regular basis. Graduates are self-monitored; however, therapists are available if required. Orientations to the exercise area are held on a regular basis.
Keep Breathing Easier*

Twice a week, supervised exercise classes are held in the graduate exercise area. Graduates are monitored for oxygen levels and proper technique and are given suggestions on how they can increase workloads to help them achieve maximum progress.

Review Session
For graduates who have had a deterioration in their condition, the Centre offers a review session with a respiratory therapist. This session will help identify any problems and offer possible solutions. The respiratory therapist will help graduates set up an exercise program to help get them back into an active routine.

Follow-up Evaluation
All graduates are asked to return for an evaluation six months and yearly for two years after completion of the Breathe Easy Program. Oxygen saturation, heart rate and blood pressure are monitored at these times. The 12-minute walk is performed and results are compared to the participant's last recorded walk test. Any significant deterioration is discussed with the participant and then reported to his or her physician(s).

Education Sessions
Graduates are always welcome to attend the educational classes that are held daily as part of the Breathe Easy Program. Graduates are also encouraged to attend feature lectures that are held regularly.
B-Fit Class*

Graduates are invited to participate in a weekly chair aerobics session. Each class begins with gentle stretching and progresses to a range of motion movements that increase participants' heart rates. There is also a strengthening portion that uses resistant tubing and relaxing cool down motions to round off the class.

Harmonica Lessons*
Graduates can take weekly harmonica lessons that are taught by a graduate of the program. What a great way to improve breathing techniques!

C.O.L.D. Club Support Group*
The C.O.L.D. Club is an organized, non-profit support group that provides educational, social and emotional support to individuals with chronic lung disease. Yearly memberships are available for anyone with a chronic lung disease, as well as spouses and other immediate family members.
