Settling In
It is our hope that you and your loved ones feel welcome and make yourself at home at the Edmonton General. Below are some suggestions as to how we may help you and your family feel at home. Please feel free to share any suggestions or comments anytime with a member of our staff.

Creating your Personal Space
Bring in personal items that give you a sense of home. Suggestions include:
- photographs
- mementos
- plants
- an easy chair
- conforters, bedspreads and lap blankets

Staff will arrange to have your pictures and mementos hung in your room.

You can also choose to have your room painted from a select palette of colors. Ask your Resident Care Manager for details and costs.

Feeling Comfortable
Wear clothes that you will be comfortable in and use your favorite toiletries to make sure you feel good. Suggestion include:
- loose-fitting tops, elastic-waisted pants and back-opening dresses
- undershirts and warm socks
- housecoats
- non-slip shoes
- combs, brushes, cosmetics, hand mirrors

- razors, nail clippers/files

Please remember to identify your personal belongings with your name.

Special Considerations
