Movie Service
Residents may borrow movies from Volunteer Services. Two vidoes may be signed out each day. Videos are free ot charge to residents. For more information, please call 482-8270.

Telephones
Telephones are available on each unit for resident use. There is no charge for local calls. Public pay phones are also located in the Youville lobby.
To order a personal phone, please contact Telus at 310-2255 to arrange for installation. Telus will then bill you directly for this service.

Banking
Personal items, including cash, are your responsibility for safekeeping. We recommend you keep a maximum of $20 in a locked cupboard on your unit.

You may open a Trust account at the Business Office, where you can keep a maximum of $500. You may withdraw money from your Trust Account from the Business Office during office hours. For a withdrawal of more than $100, please allow 48 hours to prepare for the cheque.

 

A voucher system is available to reduce your need to carry cash with you. Please talk to your RCM or Social Worker for information on this.

In addition, for your convenience, an automated teller bank machine is locaed in the lobby of the main floor near the Youville entrance.

Cable TV
Cable television service is available on the units, for more information please speak to your RCM.

Parking
Monthly parking passes can be purchased, please contact your RCM for more details.

Mail
A mailbox is located on the main floor. Stamps are available for purchase at the Gift Shop. Incoming mail is delivered to each resident. Your address will be:

Transportation
DATS (Disabled Adult Transportation) is a public transportation service that can provide door-to-door service for your recreational outings or appointments. To access this service, apply directly to DATS for a registration number. Your RCM can supply you with the necessary forms for this. Wheelchair accessible private taxicabs are also available.  

Beauty Salon/Barber Shop
Hair Affair, a beauty salon and barber shop run by the Associates of Caritas, is located on the main floor. For hours of operation or to book an appointment, contact the salon at 482-8032. Proceeds benefit the continuing care program.

Laundry Services
Residents have several laundry options:

- Ask a family member or friend to take your clothing home to wash

- Use the washer and dryer on your unit. You need to provide your own soap and fabric softener.

- On site laundry service is available for personal items at a monthly fee. All clothing needs to be labeled. Labels are available on-sute. Please check with your RCM for information and costs.

Foot Care and Massage Therapy
A podiatrist visits the facility regularly. Massage therapy is also available. Please aks your RCM for details and costs.
