As a health care professional, you may be required to fulfill specific requirements in order to be licensed to practice in that profession in the province of Alberta.

 

Caritas Health Group uses the following recruitment agencies worldwide to recruit Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs):

Registered Nurses must obtain licensure with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) to be eligible for employment. 

 

If you are a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you must obtain registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Proof of such registration must be provided to your employer prior to commencing employment.

 

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN's) must obtain licensure with the College and Association of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).  Proof of such registration must be provided to your employer prior to commencing employment.

 

The International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) can help individuals obtain recognition for the education they received outside of Canada.  IQAS issues assessment certificates that show how educational credentials from other countries compare to educational standards in Canada.  IQAS assessment certificates are advisory only.  IQAS is part of Alberta Learning within the Government of Alberta, and was founded on extensive partnerships with employers, professional licensing bodies and post-secondary institutions.  Visit the IQAS website for more information.
