Employment Opportunities
Graduate Nurses who apply for any posted Registered Nurse position must meet the following requirements:
- Recent graduate of a baccalaureate or diploma in nursing, or completion of an approved nursing refresher course;
- Currently hold or be eligible for registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA), and
- Current Heart & Stroke Foundation - BLS (Level C) is required.
*Remember - Casual and temporary employment can get your "foot in the door" as an internal employee, and provide further opportunities in regards to permanent positions down the road.
New Graduate Initiative
In conjunction with Alberta Health Services - Capital Health, the New Graduate Initiative (NGI) provides full-time learning opportunities on a temporary basis to nursing students who have completed the basic educational requirements of their program to gain knowledge and experience in a specific area.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Recent graduate of a baccalaureate or diploma in nursing,
- Eligible for registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA), and
- Current Heart & Stroke Foundation - BLS (Level C) is required.
