Boomer Caps - In memory of Cpl. Andrew James Eykelenboom
Andrew Eykelenboom was killed on duty in Afghanistan as a medic for the Canadian Military. Andrew's mother Maureen worked for Volunteer Services at the Misericordia for many years.

In a wonderful tribute to the Misericordia Sisters, stained glass artist David Warawa and specialguest, Sister Anne-Marie Plamondon recently unveiled a life-sized likeness of Sister Rosalie Cadron-Jette, the order's foundress.

Remembering Our Roots: The Continuing Tradition of the Misericordia Sisters
There may today be fewer than two hundred Sisters of the Misericorde, but their dedication and influence are as strong as ever. Also known as Sisters of Mercy, the Congregation of the Sisters of Misericorde was established in Montreal in 1848 by Marie Rosalie Cad ron-Jette.
Shear Heart
Kudos to Caritas staff members who participated in Cops for Cancer fundraising events on August 14 and 17. A total of 24 staff including 19 security team members, a housekeeper, a Vice President, an LPN, a photographer and a unit supervisor allowed their heads to be shaved in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Beginning the day with hope and restoration
Just outside an operating theatre at the Misericorida Community Hospital, three surgeons are scrubbing in for their first and only surgery of the day—a seven-hour operation that will restore the body and spirit of a woman with breast cancer.

The Websters dictionary lists numerous descriptions of family-a group consisting of parents and children; people closely related by blood; a group consisting of individuals descended from a common ancestry-to mention but a few.
